Man posed as basketball coach to sexually abuse boy, 15, police say

A Far South Side man is accused of posing as a basketball coach in order to sexually abuse a 15-year-old earlier this year, Chicago police said Wednesday.

Andre D. Jackson, 56, was charged with indecent solicitation/aggravated criminal sexual abuse and grooming, both of which are felonies, police said.

Jackson, of West Pullman, was arrested Monday after being identified as the person who, over several months earlier this year, "presented himself as a basketball coach and proceeded to commit acts of indecent solicitation and grooming of a 15-year-old boy," police said in a statement.

Jackson was scheduled for a detention hearing Wednesday.
