Detectives are now working to locate a person of interest.
“Our officers and medical personnel initiated life-saving measures. However, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Federal Way Police Commander Kyle Buchanan told KIRO Newsradio.
Officers responded to a domestic violence call at about 8:20 a.m. Officers and medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Domestic violence calls are one of the more dangerous calls that we go to, not only for the police officers, but also the people involved,” Buchanan said.
Authorities do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public, according to Buchanan. The department will release additional information as it becomes available.
