UNM’s Madeleine Miller and Camila Canedo Earn Mountain West Player of the Week Honors

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — UNM senior Setter Madeleine Miller and senior Libero Camila Canedo earned Mountain West Player of the Week awards.

Miller was named the Offensive Player of the Week. Miller averaged 12 assists per set in their sweep over San Jose State.

Canedo was named the Defensive Player of the Week. She averaged 5.63 digs across eight sets defending the back line.

UNM Head Coach Brian Hosfeld spoke on his two players and the impact they made over the weekend.

“She’s just really controlling the left and middle part of the core defensive and really putting some energy into it as well. Something that we’re relying on now. So it’s nice to have that consistency. Madeleine on the offensive side I think the first match she got to maybe eight kills. I feel like she could get double digits”, said Hosfeld.
