Woman, 75, critically hurt after being hit by car at Kahala Mall

A 75-year-old woman was critically injured Tuesday evening when a car hit her in the Kahala Mall parking lot.

Shortly after 5 p.m., a 74-year-old man driving in the lot struck the woman as she was walking near American Savings Bank, Honolulu police said.

The woman suffered a possible head injury. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services provided advanced life support and took her to an emergency room in critical condition.

The driver remained at the scene and was not injured.

Police said, at this time, speed, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors to the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
