MIDDLETOWN, Del. (WPVI) -- A student was arrested Tuesday after allegedly bringing a loaded handgun to Middletown High School in Middletown, Delaware.

Investigators say the weapon was a fully loaded 9mm handgun.

According to police, the incident began Monday morning when a 15-year-old student reportedly displayed a knife he was carrying in his bag and made threatening statements.

A parent later reported the incident to school officials.

The following day, police responded to the school and questioned the student.
