Racist, hateful graffiti found in several parts of Manchester
Racist, hateful graffiti was discovered in several neighborhoods across Manchester, New Hampshire, on Saturday, prompting a police investigation.
At least 15 incidents have been identified in three areas, including Candia Road, Gabrielle Street and South Beech Street, Manchester police said. The incidents occurred overnight and involved antisemitic, racist, and homophobic content.
The acts appear to be random at this point in the investigation, according to police, with no indication that specific people or properties were intentionally targeted.
“Acts of vandalism involving antisemitic, racist, and homophobic slurs are unacceptable and have no
place in Manchester. This type of conduct is harmful, divisive, and deeply disrespectful to the individuals
and communities targeted," Manchester Police Chief Peter Marr said in a statement. "Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected, and we take incidents like these seriously. We are actively investigating this matter and will work to hold those responsible accountable."
The investigation remains ongoing, and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious
activity or has surveillance footage from the impacted areas to contact the Manchester Police Department at
603-668-8711.
