Truck crashes onto its side in Lynnfield, knocking out power
A truck tipped over on a street in Lynnfield, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, knocking out power to part of the area and spilling debris.
The truck appeared to be hauling trash or another kind of waste, some of which had spilled into a yard.
The crash on Salem Street caused utility pole damage and closed the street from Summer to Walnut streets, according to the town.

Power was knocked out as far away as Peabody. At Lynnfield House of Pizza, it couldn’t have come at a worse time.
“I’m working inside, we are super busy in the store, and I heard a really super boom,” said restaurant owner Kosar Ali.
Then, they saw something just as surprising: The driver got himself out and was walking around before later going to the hospital.
“The fuel came out from his truck, and I saw him, he was climbing out from the door, and he was OK,” said Johnny White, who works at a nearby Mobil station.
Salem Street was closed between Summer and Walnut streets through rush hour.
Crews have been working hard — it took more than six hours to flip the truck upright. They were towing it away late Wednesday night.
That entire time, it was blocking one woman’s driveway.
“I just hear this really loud boom, and I look outside my window, and I see this big semi-truck,” said Kai Zheng of Lynnfield.
Zheng took photos of the aftermath, showing scrap metal scattered across her front yard.
“The truck was leaking, and then there were wires tangled with it, so I was like, ‘OK, I’m just going to go back to my house, go back inside,” she said.
She missed work, spending the day blocked in.
“I’m just glad nobody’s hurt and it’s getting cleaned up,” Zheng said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the crash or if anyone would be cited.
