First a warmup, then cooler weather returns for Halloween
Buckle up! Our seesaw pattern of temperatures will continue over the next few days, first with a warmup through Friday. Then, cooler weather returns just in time for Halloween!
In fact, many of us woke up to chilly temperatures across Greater Boston this Thursday morning. But as we move into the afternoon, our temps will warm into the mid to upper 60s due in part to a breezy southwest wind. We’ll see plenty of sunshine today. Later tonight, our temperatures will drop into the mid-50s under mostly clear skies.
A weak cold front will slide through New England early Friday morning. While a few sprinkles and light showers are possible during the early morning drive here in Boston, most neighborhoods will remain dry. Much of Friday will, in fact, feature sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 60s. A few areas Metrowest could see high close to 70 degrees.
Dry weather is expected for Halloween! We’ll see a lot of sun during the day. Then, by Saturday night, we’ll see mostly clear skies. High temperatures will be in the mid-50s. By evening, temperatures will slide into the 40s for trick or treating. Make sure your little ones have a sweater or light jacket over their costumes Saturday night.
Then, overnight Saturday into Sunday morning, temperatures will drop even lower, falling into mid-30s. Have a great, safe Halloween!
Don’t forget! Daylight Saving Time ends early Sunday morning. Set your clocks back one hour. While we’ll gain an extra hour of sleep, our sunset times will be rolling back, too. Get this — Sunday night’s sunset time in Boston is at 4:37 p.m. Yikes! At least we’ll see a beautiful day filled with sunshine and highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s.
Next week is a bit unsettled. Best rain chances will likely arrive later in the week.
