MOORESVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) - A crash on I-77 shut down several lanes and caused major traffic backups in Iredell County early Thursday morning.
The pre-dawn crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 29, along I-77 South, just past Exit 33 to Williamson Road in Mooresville.
Traffic cameras showed a tractor-trailer stopped with several emergency vehicles around it in the far-left general purpose lane, next to the toll lane. First responders had the toll lane closed, as well as two general purpose lanes.
Traffic was slowly moving around the crash with one lane open.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was hurt in the crash, nor how long the wreck could have lanes closed.
Traffic maps showed I-77 South was backed up for about four miles as of 6:45 a.m.
