TN Black Caucus brings statewide listening tour to West Tennessee
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. (WBBJ) - One group of legislators visited a local college Wednesday to hear from Tennesseans on the issues they face on a daily basis.

The Tennessee Black Caucus of State Legislators stopped at Tennessee College of Applied Technology of Jackson, also known as TCAT, for its statewide listening tour.
The special town hall meeting was free and open to the public.
The organization is chaired by Representative Jesse Chism, who says the purpose of the tour is to inform Tennesseans about current black caucus initiatives and to gather ideas for the upcoming 2027 legislative session.
“The genesis of our state-wide tour is more of a listening tour. We want to hear the needs of people from all over the state so that when we go back into legislative session, we’ll be equipped with the concerns of our constituents,” explained Representative Chism.
Over the past two weeks, the black caucus listening tour has visited Chattanooga, Nashville, and Clarksville.
The next stop is in Memphis.
