Early voting ends today as Mid-South voters take to the polls
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - If you haven’t voted early yet in Tennessee, today is your last chance.
Early voting is up 60 percent in Shelby County compared to 2022, according to script cues.
Early voting started on Oct. 14 and ends today. Most sites are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett, who oversees elections in the state, visited yesterday. He said even though numbers are up compared to the 2022 election, this year election numbers should be much higher.
“It looks like people able to come in and cast their vote, efficiently. With every piece of equipment across the state working properly. It means at the end of the night we are able to get it done in an accurately and timely fashion. And that people walk in here smiling and walk out smiling and people have confidence in the electoral process,” Hargett said.
Voters at the polls throughout the past couple of weeks have stated that the economy is their top concern.
