Scattered Halloween storms remain
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - All eyes are on Halloween this year as our best chance for rain in several weeks arrives for the holiday.
Weather changes start late this week as clouds move in and humidity begins to return.
We still expect to remain dry through Friday, with only a spotty sprinkle shower possible by Friday evening.
Highs stay around 80 even as the clouds increase.
Halloween remains our focus as scattered storms begin to form through the day and into the evening/night.
That means trick-or-treat times will have to pay attention to radar just in case one of those pop-ups forms over your neighborhood.
The overall storm coverage will be around 60%, so this will not be a widespread storm day.
Best advice is to pack the rain gear and hope for the best. I wouldn’t be canceling plans with this forecast.
Into next week, we will be tracking a stronger front and a more widespread rain/storm signal.
The timing brings that next storm into the forecast by Wednesday. It’ll turn sharply cooler behind that front!
