NEW CASTLE COUNTY, Delaware (WPVI) -- A Conshohocken-based nonprofit is paving the way for others to follow in "Fred's Footsteps."
Their work has touched hundreds of local families in the area.
"Fred's Footsteps is a nonprofit organization that works with families caring for seriously ill, injured and disabled children...Our 'Bridge Fund' helps with mortgage/rent, and then our 'Keys to Mobility' helps families obtain accessible vehicles. And our 'Pat's Projects' is to work with families to increase accessibility and safety within their home," said Executive Director, Christine DiBona Lobley.
One of their recent projects ensures that a young boy with autism can enjoy his time outdoors, sheltered from any potential dangers beyond his backyard.
All of their work is in the name of DiBona Lobley's late father, who the nonprofit is named after.
"So glad that I was able to go on this journey and stay connected to my dad...carry on his legacy and create our own legacy...with the incredible families that we've worked with," said DiBona Lobley.
