Man to be sentenced for shooting and killing a woman in March 2025

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A man is set to find out how long he’ll spend in prison for shooting and killing a woman in northwest Albuquerque.

Noe Vega pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and armed robbery back in March, a year after the shooting. Vega allegedly told detectives he shot a woman and took her cash over her boyfriend stealing money and drugs from him.

Officers said they found a handgun on Vega. Detectives said he matched the description of the suspect at the scene at 120 57th St. NW.

Police conducted surveillance on Vega as officers talked to neighbors who reportedly heard the gunshot.

Vega faces 25-32 years behind bars at sentencing, set for Thursday at 2 p.m.
