18-year-old killed in shooting; Garland police investigating

Garland police said Brandon Eris Robinson Jr., 18, was shot and killed Monday evening.

Police said just before 10:45 p.m. on Monday, they responded to the 100 block of South Barnes Dr. for a report of someone injured.

Officers said that when they arrived, they found a man who was injured. Police said he told officers he was involved in an altercation with two other males and that gunshots were fired.

Garland Police said they looked for the two people and found Robinson Jr. unresponsive, lying on the ground. The Garland Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators learned that the man who contacted police fired the gun, and a bullet hit Robinson, according to Garland Police. The other man involved left the scene.

Police said they’ve identified the third person and are working to conduct an interview.

Detectives believe everyone involved knew each other and said this was not a random incident.
