According to the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday afternoon, the deputy was traveling south on Highway 41 with emergency lights and sirens activated when he tried to pass other vehicles.
The CCSO said he was responding to a house fire.
That’s when another vehicle tried to turn left into a private driveway, and the deputy tried to avoid a collision but hit the vehicle, authorities said.
The impact caused the deputy’s patrol vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn.
