Second woman arrested in 4-year-old’s death

Atlanta Police have arrested a second woman in the death of a 4-year-old.

Colby Cooks was found dead inside a home on Cardinal Drive on Monday night when police responded for a welfare check. Police now have two women in custody: Jasmaine Jenkins and Jasmaine Smoak.

Police said its fugitive unit and the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jasmaine Jenkins on Thursday. Wilkes County also assisted with Smoak’s arrest earlier this week.

Both women will be charged with murder and cruelty to children in the first degree. Smoak also has been charged with aggravated assault.
