These roads will be closed for G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting in Atlanta
Several streets in midtown Atlanta will be closed this weekend as the city hosts the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio and dozens of foreign ministers will meet on Friday and Saturday at the Loews Hotel Conference Center.
“As a global hub of diplomacy, connectivity, and commerce, Atlanta offers the perfect backdrop for these discussions,” Rubio’s office said in a news release.

The foreign ministers will meet to address “threats to freedom of navigation, energy and food security, and supply chains” per Rubio’s office.
During the meeting, several roads will be closed starting at midnight Friday through 12 p.m. Sunday.
The Atlanta Department of Transportation said crews will close:
- Juniper Street NE from 13th Street NE to 11th Street NE
- 11th Street NE from Peachtree Street NE to Juniper Street NE
- 12th Street NE from Peachtree Street NE to Juniper Street NE
The department said the closures will help with pedestrian and car movement during the meeting and other activities.
ATLDOT told drivers to follow marked detour signs around the closure area. The department said drivers going southbound should use Peachtree Street NE and 10th Street NE to get back to Juniper Street NE.
ATLDOT said people can get real time traffic updates by texting “JOIN” to (470) 524-7673 for text alerts.
