Man injured by falling wall in Litchfield

LITCHFIELD, Ill. (First Alert 4) - A man was injured when a wall fell in Litchfield on Wednesday.

According to the Litchfield Fire Department, a wall fell on a man who was in the bucket of a lift at the Elk Tower Apartment Building on North Monroe Street.

The injured man was stabilized and taken by helicopter to a St. Louis hospital. No other information about the man’s injuries has been released.

The Litchfield Fire Department said the passage between the buildings was barricaded to prevent others from going between them.

Just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, the building was released back to its owner.
