Longtime rodeo announcer Bob Tallman named grand marshal of 2027 Houston Rodeo Parade

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has named longtime rodeo announcer Bob Tallman as grand marshal of the 2027 downtown Houston Rodeo Parade.

Tallman has served as the announcer for Rodeo Houston for 45 years, welcoming fans with his signature "Hello, Houston!" and helping narrate the event for generations of attendees. He was inducted into the Rodeo Houston Hall of Fame in 2024 as part of its inaugural class.

"Bob Tallman has meant so much to RODEOHOUSTON and to the people who have experienced our event over the years," Chris Boleman, president and CEO of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, said. "His passion for rodeo and commitment to Western heritage reflect the traditions we are proud to celebrate. Having him lead the downtown Rodeo Parade is a meaningful way to begin our 95th season."

Tallman's career spans nearly 15,000 rodeo performances across five countries. He was also inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2004 and has received 12 Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Announcer of the Year awards.
