ICE officer arrested on North Side for DWI suspicion, source says
A man arrested Monday in San Antonio on suspicion of driving while intoxicated works as a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer, a law enforcement source confirmed to KSAT.
The San Antonio Police Department pulled over Ian Rashad Tucker, 31, just before midnight for a traffic violation. A law enforcement source told KSAT Investigates that Tucker is an ICE officer.
Police said Tucker showed signs of intoxication when officers spoke to him near Interstate 10 West and Colorado Street.
Bexar County jail records show he was booked on Tuesday and released on bond later that evening.
KSAT contacted ICE and the Department of Homeland Security on Wednesday to confirm Tucker’s employment status.
We heard back from DHS on Thursday, but the federal agency provided a statement attributed to an ICE spokesperson.
“The men and women of ICE are entrusted with upholding the rule of law and are held to the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct,” an ICE spokesperson said in an email. “Incidents of misconduct are treated with the utmost seriousness and investigated thoroughly. When substantiated, appropriate action is taken.”
ICE said it would never confirm the identities of its law enforcement officers.
