48-year-old charged after man found shot in doorway of Morganton home

MORGANTON, N.C. (WBTV) - A 48-year-old Burke County man was accused of shooting a man at a home earlier this week.

On Tuesday, Oct. 27, deputies said they found a man with a gunshot wound lying in the front doorway of a home on B and D Avenue off Bethel Road in Morgaton. The man was taken to a hospital, his condition was not immediately released.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office said on Wednesday, Oct. 28, they arrested 48-year-old Seua Sarath.

Sarath was charged with felony discharge of a weapon into occupied property and felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

It was not immediately clear what led up the shooting.
