Knights goalie back at practice, could play against Devils
Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Carter Hart practiced Thursday after an injury forced him to miss Tuesday’s game against the Ottawa Senators.
Hart was a full participant and could be an option to return to the lineup Friday against the New Jersey Devils.
Coach Ryan Craig did not commit to Hart’s availability, but said it was a “good sign” that he was on the ice.
“We’ll see how he gets through today after practicing,” Craig said. “I haven’t talked to the trainers yet, but it’s sure a good sign that he’s out there.”
Hart left morning skate Tuesday with a lower-body injury while trying to make a save. He sat on the bench for a few minutes before limping to the locker room.
The Knights recalled Cameron Whitehead from AHL Henderson to be Adin Hill’s backup in the 4-1 win over Ottawa.Hart was coming off one of his best efforts of the season with 26 saves in the 2-1 overtime loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.
Craig also did not name a starting goaltender against the Devils. Hart is 4-3-1 with a 2.76 goals-against average and .889 save percentage.
The Knights begin a four-game road trip starting in Boston on Monday.
