Police said Wichita Fire Department Engine 20 was driving with emergency lights and sirens activated when a black Honda CRV driven by the 79-year-old man entered an intersection the fire truck was crossing.

The crash caused the vehicles to hit another vehicle, a black Dodge Ram.

The 79-year-old man died at the hospital. He was identified by police as James Mattson of Wichita.
