MSCS reports increase in graduation rate
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Memphis-Shelby County Schools says graduation rates are up.
MSCS reports the 2025-26 state graduation rate is 85.4%, the highest point in the last seven years, up one percent from 2024-25 and up 7.7% since 2020.
“Every student who crosses the graduation stage represents years of effort by that student, their family, and the educators and staff who supported them. We celebrate this progress and remain focused on strengthening the support every student needs to finish with a strong path forward,” MSCS Superintendent Dr. Roderick F. Richmond said.
Proficiency also rose at least one percent in each of the four major areas: English, math, science and social studies.
