Off-Strip casino giving away $400K Las Vegas home in newest promotion

An off-Strip casino is giving away the house. Well, a house.

One lucky guest will win a newly built home in the Las Vegas Valley valued at approximately $400,000 as part of a $500,000 promotional giveaway launching next month.

Rio hotel-casino announced Thursday that its “Giving Away the House” promotion will begin Nov. 1, with eight preliminary drawings leading up to a March 6 grand-prize drawing. The casino is partnering with homebuilder Lennar for the giveaway.

The promotion will award $1,000 in free play to five winners at each of eight preliminary drawings scheduled between Nov. 14 and Feb. 20. The grand-prize drawing will award the home to one winner, while four other participants will receive free play prizes of $10,000, $5,000, $2,500 and $1,000.

Rio President Rod Turlan called it a one-of-a-kind promotion that offers guests a potentially life-changing prize.

According to the promotion’s terms and conditions, Rio Rewards members receive one entry into the promotion. Participants must be at least 21, have a Rio Rewards account and present valid identification. Entrants must also activate their entries at a promotional kiosk between 3 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on each drawing date to be eligible.

The preliminary drawings will take place at 6 p.m. at Lapa Lounge. The March 6 finale is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Rio Event Stage.

The casino describes the promotion as its largest ever.
