Double, double toil and trouble: Old Globe brings ‘Macbeth' to annual tour

The Old Globe Theatre invites the region to Scotland with witches, ghosts and Great Birnam Wood as it brings back its annual free Globe for All Tour with Shakespeare’s “Macbeth.”

The tour will visit 25 venues through San Diego County and Tijuana, bringing “The Scottish Play,” directed by Marcela Lorca, with a complement of nine actors.

“There are few plays that draw audiences into mystery like Macbeth,” said Old Globe Director of Arts Engagement Adena Varner.

Varner said the intersections between the supernatural and the human, the timeless questions of fate and free will, and the struggle with our own ambition make this one of Shakespeare’s most theatrical works.

“This production promises an unforgettable experience you won’t want to miss,” he added.
