HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Yes, the dynasty is back. The Houston Comets have unveiled their new logo for the 2027 WNBA season.
On Thursday, the Comets showcased their new identity at POST Houston. Additionally, the Comets explained the meaning behind their new logo.
"This is a landmark moment for the Comets, for Houston, and for the continued growth of women's sports," said Gretchen Sheirr, President of Business Operations for the Houston Rockets and Comets. "This franchise helped define the early years of the WNBA, and we are incredibly proud to honor that championship history while building something modern, bold, and distinctly Houston for the future."
The team's revival came after Houston Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta bought the Connecticut Sun in March. The Sun will relocate to Houston and resume play as the Comets beginning with the upcoming WNBA season.

The Comets, four-time WNBA champions from 1997 to 2000 and one of the league's eight original teams, will begin their new era when they take the court next year.
Fans can shop the team's new merchandise at an exclusive Houston Comets pop-up store at the George R. Brown Convention Center from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1.
