Police identify driver of white truck from viral road rage video

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Police said they identified the driver in a viral Albuquerque road rage case and issued a warrant for 68-year-old Robert Eugene Hagen.

Police said Hagen faces charges of aggravated battery, criminal damage to property and leaving the scene of an accident.

The case stems from late August 2026 near Wyoming Boulevard and Constitution Avenue in northeast Albuquerque. Viral cellphone video showed a woman in a red SUV, later identified as Jenipher Lewis, breaking the back window of a white truck with a baseball bat.

The video then showed the truck driver, who police now say is Hagen, slam into Lewis’ vehicle while her kids were in the back seat.

Lewis reportedly told police she got angry when Hagen pulled out in front of her and forced her to swerve. Investigators said she yelled at Hagen and that he laughed at her before she got out and smashed his window with a baseball bat.

Police said Hagen told them the crash afterward was unintentional, but investigators said evidence showed otherwise.

A judge is holding Lewis in jail until trial.
