Green Bay’s defense shuts down Panthers offense, sacking Bryce Young 6 times
GREEN BAY, W.I. (WBTV) - The Carolina Panthers missed a number of opportunities against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night just four days after another disappointing outing.
The Panthers (3-4) dropped their second straight game losing to the Packers (5-3) 27-19 from Lambeau Field on Thursday, Oct. 29. The Panthers allowed over 354 yards of offense to the Packers in their loss.
Quarterback Bryce Young and the Panthers made things interesting late in the fourth quarter when Young found Jalen Coker for the 26-yeard touchdown to make it an eight-point game, 27-19.
The Panthers decided to go for two, but Young’s pass was broken up. Carolina’s defense game up with a three and out forcing a Packers punt with about 4:35 left in the game.
Carolina would face a fourth and five from the 50-yard line and Young’s pass to Tetairoa McMillian was incomplete.
The Panthers won the turnover battle against the Packers forcing two fumbles, including one on the opening kickoff and an interception. However, Carolina was only able to turn one of the turnovers into three points.
Carolina was limited to just 258 yards of total offense after only putting up 266 on Sunday, Oct. 25, against the Tampa Buccaneers.
The Packers defense sacked Young six times.
The Panthers will not play until Sunday, Nov. 8, against the Denver Broncos at home at 1 p.m.
