Storm Team4 Forecast: Halloweekend starts near 80° but Saturday will be cooler

4 things to know about the weather:

  1. Fantastic Friday
  2. Cloudier days ahead
  3. Dry through Election Day
  4. Plenty of 70s next week

A slow moving area of high pressure from Canada will move over the Great Lakes Friday, settle into our area this weekend and then hold firm into the middle of next week.

This means that our dry pattern is going to continue a while longer. One thing that will change is the amount of sunshine we get to see. Friday won’t be an issue. After some early morning clouds and fog, our Friday will turn out to be sunny and warm.

Highs easily reaching the mid-70s Friday will be a full 10° above average. A cold front coming through the area Friday afternoon will bring a blustery northwest wind along with it. Great kite flying weather Friday afternoon. The wind will settle down late Friday night.

Trick-or-treating forecast

Saturday morning will start out about 10° colder than Friday morning, with most area falling into the low to mid-40s. The only track to Saturday’s forecast is how soon the clouds overtake the area. There should be at least some sun in the morning but eventually the clouds will overtake the sky.

The fading sun and a northeast wind will keep highs in the low 60s around D.C. Saturday afternoon while the higher elevations to the west will likely stay in the upper 50s.

Sunday will also come with more clouds than sun and highs returning to the mid-60s. This trend will last into early next week.

Highs will be near 70° on Monday and in the low to mid-70s for Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain chances will finally return to the area by late Wednesday into Thursday and Friday.

Once that storm clears the area it will finally feel like November with highs near 60° and lows in the 30s to 40°.
