$39.7 million in federal funding to go to Missouri rural hospitals
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Rural hospitals in Missouri will be getting $39.7 million in federal funding, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced Friday.
The money will come from Rural Health Transformation Program funding. According to CMS, the investment will go to 26 rural healthcare providers to renovate, reconfigure, equip or repurpose existing facilities to expand maternal health, behavioral health, diagnostic, outpatient and chronic disease management across the state.
Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe released a statement with the announcement of the new funding:
“Every Missourian deserves access to quality healthcare close to home. These investments will help rural health care providers modernize facilities, expand maternal and behavioral health services, and strengthen access to critical care across our state. By supporting locally driven solutions, we are helping rural communities build a stronger health care system that improves outcomes for Missouri families today and for generations to come,” Gov. Mike Kehoe said.
