Water main break in Norwood closes road, causes water service issues
Crews are dealing with a water main break in Norwood, Massachusetts, that is impacting traffic and water service in parts of the town Friday morning.
The water main break occurred in the area of Nahatan and Winfield streets, Norwood police said. Nahatan Street is closed between its intersections with Pleasant Street and West Border Road.
Police assured residents that they are aware of the issue, and crews are actively working to address it.
Drivers are being urged to use caution during their morning commute and avoid the area if possible — seek alternate routes and allow extra travel time.
The water main break may also be affecting water service in other areas of town, police added. Residents are asked to refrain from calling 911 for water-related issues unless there is an emergency, so that dispatchers can remain available for emergency calls.
It’s unclear how long it will take for crews to resolve this issue.
