Vocalo brewed up this year's witchiest Halloween playlist. Press play and start the party

What’s scarier than your Halloween costumes? Trying to make sure everyone is enjoying the music at your costume party. If you’re at a loss for a playlist, look no further.

The Vocalo team — plus some colleagues at WBEZ and the Sun-Times — put together two-plus hours of music, with no “Monster Mash,” “Ghostbusters,” “Time Warp” or “Thriller” in sight. Dance along to less overplayed on-theme songs like “Vamp Anthem” by Playboi Carti, “Dracula” by Tame Impala and “Witchy” by KAYTRANADA and Childish Gambino.

Give some love to other classics including Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London,” “Psycho Killer” by the Talking Heads and Ministry’s “Every Day Is Halloween.” Plus, check out horror film originals like 21 Savage’s “Spiral,” unofficially Halloween songs like “Heads Will Roll” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and others that just sound like the soundtrack to a themed party, like Nelly Furtado’s “Maneater.”

Hit play while you’re getting your costume on, in the car on the way to your Halloween plans or when your friend puts you on music duty at the party.
