November ushers in the holiday season, bringing with it a spirit of gratitude, generosity and giving.
At the Carolina Theatre at Belk Place, the month’s lineup offers plenty of reasons to celebrate, with an eclectic mix of live music, special performances, film and community-focused events.
As the season of giving gets underway, two November events offer audiences an opportunity to make their night out about something more. Rhythm & Roots: Soul Amplified on Nov. 19 and the OneWorld Health Benefit Concert on Nov. 20 bring music and philanthropy together, highlighting the power of entertainment to connect people and support meaningful causes.
Returning for its second year, Rhythm & Roots: Soul Amplified celebrates the legacy and impact of Black philanthropy in Charlotte. Presented in support of the Foundation For Black Philanthropy, the Nov. 19 event will feature Al Jasper & Friends and Gena Does Tina, a high-energy Tina Turner tribute led by Carolina vocalist Gena Chambers. The evening combines music, storytelling and community recognition, with proceeds supporting the foundation’s work to strengthen Charlotte’s Black community and expand opportunities for local organizations and youth.
On Nov. 20, Grammy-nominated band NEEDTOBREATHE takes the stage for the OneWorld Health Benefit Concert. The event aims to raise $1 million to strengthen healthcare and diagnostic services in Uganda, Honduras and Nicaragua. Proceeds will support OneWorld Health’s efforts to expand access to quality, affordable healthcare in underserved communities.
Beyond these special events, the Carolina Theatre’s November calendar offers something for a variety of interests.
The month opens Nov. 4 with the film premiere of Search Party: Where’s Pawpaw? On Nov. 15, National Geographic Live: Wild Cats Revealed brings audiences closer to the natural world through compelling storytelling and exploration.
Music and storytelling take center stage Nov. 22 when Stewart Copeland, legendary drummer and founding member of The Police, brings his Have I Said Too Much: The Police, Hollywood, and Other Adventures tour to the theatre. The spoken-word performance features stories, photographs, video and audience interaction drawn from Copeland’s extraordinary career.
The month wraps up Nov. 28 with Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite, a jazz-infused interpretation of a holiday favorite. Featuring the Blackhawk Quintet, vocalist Dawn Anthony and an ensemble of Charlotte musicians, the performance offers a fresh musical perspective on a seasonal classic.
The variety reflects the Carolina Theatre’s role as more than a performance venue. Its November schedule brings together music, film, storytelling and community, creating opportunities for audiences to experience something new and share memorable moments in Uptown Charlotte.
As the holiday season approaches, the theatre’s November lineup provides plenty of reasons to get out, come together and celebrate. Whether discovering a new performer, enjoying a familiar favorite or supporting a cause, there’s something meaningful waiting on the Carolina Theatre stage.
