Parents Kiarious Hall Jazmine Hall arrested after melee at girl's softball game in Sugar Land, Texas, court records say
SUGAR LAND, Texas -- A youth softball game in Texas turned violent Saturday, leaving one father hospitalized with serious injuries, a grandfather injured and two parents facing criminal charges, according to police and court records.
WARNING: VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED
The altercation occurred during a game involving two 12-year-old select softball teams at Imperial Park in Sugar Land, Texas.
According to charging documents, Kiarious Marshun Hall and his wife Jazmine Hall were both at their daughter's game when the dispute began. Their team was Illusions Gold 2033.
Investigators said the dispute began over Hall's behavior during opposing team at-bats. Hall told officers another man from Timbergrove Thunder approached him and said he "couldn't cheer before the players pitched the ball."
Witness video reviewed by investigators allegedly showed Hall striking another father in the face with a metal water bottle, causing him to fall to the ground unconscious.
Court records state Hall then swung the bottle at a second man before the confrontation became a physical fight.
In the video reviewed by ABC affiliate KTRK, both Halls are wearing pink shirts, along with other parents from their team. The father who fell on the ground unconscious is wearing a dark blue shirt, while the grandfather who tried to separate Kiarious Hall is wearing a light blue shirt.

Gary Greaser, the grandfather in the video, said he was attending the game to watch his granddaughter play, and stepped in after seeing the first man struck.
"I said 'You can't do this.' I took him, I wanted to disarm the guy, because he's going to do it to somebody else," Greaser said.
Video from the scene also allegedly showed Jazmine Hall running into the altercation and pushing Greaser before both fell into nearby bushes. Bystanders eventually separated those involved, according to court records.
"We're saying 'Hey, why are you getting loud?' It's bad sportsmanship to do it right as the pitch comes up when our girls are batting, and that's all it took. He just flipped and said, I can do whatever I want, I can say whatever I want. And you can't stop me,'" Greaser said.
Investigators said Hall claimed the men had "elbowed and poked his chest" and that he acted in self-defense. Court documents state the video reviewed by officers did not show those actions.
The father who was allegedly struck with the water bottle was transported to St. Luke's Hospital. Attorney Steve Shellist, who represents the injured man, said his client remains hospitalized with a broken jaw, a fractured skull and three brain bleeds.
Greaser's chin required seven stitches, he sustained extensive scrapes during the confrontation, and had a broken hip.
"It's medieval times like we're going to smash each other in the head with something," Greaser said in disbelief.
Following the incident, Sugar Land police arrested both Kiarious Hall and Jazmine Hall. Court records show Kiarious Hall was charged with assault causing bodily injury, and both were booked into the Fort Bend County Jail.
By Monday, Jazmine Hall had resigned from her position as assistant principal at Lamar Junior High School.
Lamar CISD shared the following statement:
"Lamar CISD is aware of the incident involving a Lamar Junior High School employee. The employee voluntarily reported the incident to the district's human resources department over the weekend.
The incident occurred outside of school and was not associated with any Lamar CISD-sponsored event or activity.
The employee resigned from her position with Lamar CISD effective Monday, October 26, 2026."
Hall declined to comment when reached by KTRK.
Shellist said he is in discussions with the Fort Bend County District Attorney's Office and wants prosecutors to consider upgrading the charges. The criminal case remains under investigation.
