David Archuleta releases new holiday album 'Warm Me Up' ahead of Christmas season

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- While many people are preparing for Halloween, singer David Archuleta already has Christmas on his mind. Archuleta has us ready for Christmas with the release of his new holiday album, “Warm Me Up.”

The "American Idol" alum released his new holiday album, "Warm Me Up," on Friday. The project marks Archuleta's first holiday album release in eight years and features 10 original songs, along with two remastered tracks from his 2018 holiday collection.

ABC7's Community team recently caught up with Archuleta in West Hollywood, where he shared details about the new album and some of his favorite holiday traditions.

"Well, I’m releasing a Christmas album. It’s called “Warm Me Up,” and it comes out the day before Halloween. So, just ready to transition into the next phase of holidays after Halloween."

Archuleta said music has always played a central role in his family's holiday celebrations.

"Well, my family’s always been big on Christmas caroling, singing the Christmas songs. We use to go like, like door-to-door Christmas caroling. We’d go to the hospitals and the nursing homes, and like give them full Christmas performances, and I think that was, that’s one of my favorite memories of celebrating the holidays."

Archuleta says those traditions continue till this day.

"And sometimes, we still go do it. We’ll still go visit some of our old neighbors from our old neighborhoods, and sing for them. Music’s always been a part of the holidays."

On top of his album release, Archuleta is preparing to hit the road for his holiday tour.
