Simone Biles breaks down in tears as she and husband Jonathan Owens sell Texas home

There’s no place like home, and for Simone Biles, saying goodbye proved to be more emotional than expected.

The Olympic gymnastics icon recently revealed she broke down in tears as she prepared to part with the Houston-area home she shared with husband Jonathan Owens. She documented the emotional moment in a TikTok video before the property officially sold.

"Today is the first day the house is going to be on the market," Biles said through tears in the video. "This house will be on the market for the first time and I don't know why I'm boohoo crying."

Biles explained that the property represented a major chapter of her life as she reflected on her time in the home.

"I was here for six years, and I feel like there were just so many good memories, so many bad memories," she said. "But I feel like I grew up in this house. It's made me a real adult, so I'm gonna miss it. Ugh, I didn't think I'd be emotional about a house."

The video showed empty rooms throughout the nearly 4,000-square-foot property as well as the backyard pool area. It was apparent that the couple had already begun moving on to their next chapter. Biles ended the clip with a message for the home's future owners.

"Whoever buys this house, I hope it brings you as much joy as it did for me," she said.

In the caption, Biles revealed that the house sold much faster than she anticipated.

"The house sold in 4 days," she wrote, adding that she had planned to freshen up the home for showings and give Owens a final walkthrough. "I just cried instead."

The property, located in the Spring, Texas, area north of Houston, reportedly went under contract just days after being listed at $1.275 million, just slightly above its appraised value of $1.2 million, according to the Montgomery County Appraisal District.

The four-bedroom home featured a pool, sauna, custom wine storage and a spacious backyard.

While selling the home was clearly bittersweet, Biles assured fans there was a happy reason behind the move. When one follower asked why she and Owens decided to sell, the gymnast responded, "Because we built our dream home."

Sione Biles spoke with Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans at Netflix’s FYC red carpet for “Simone Biles Rising” and talked about the docuseries. She also gushed about her current era of life, husband Jonathan Owens and revealed what her “Housewives” tagline would be.

Biles and Owens, who married in 2023, spent years planning and building their custom Texas residence. The gymnast previously shared that the project began with the design process in 2020 before construction was completed in late 2025.

Even as she embraces a new chapter, Biles' tearful farewell reflected the deep connection she had to the home. It witnessed some of the most meaningful moments of her adult life.
