Suspect hit by own getaway car during Maryland armored car attempted robberies
Two people were arrested for targeting armored cars in Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties Friday morning.
The first robbery attempt happened at the Navy Federal Credit Union in Laurel, Maryland.
Shortly after that, the same suspects targeted a Safeway at the Bowie Town Center, police say. They then headed to a McDonald’s in Crofton.
Police found dozens of rolled coins at the scene in the crosswalk and said one of the suspects was hit by his own getaway car at the grocery store.
Police eventually caught up to the suspects at about 11 a.m. in Davidsonville.
Their names and the charges against them were not immediately released.
