Conestoga's Marching Pioneers perform in the 6abc Yard

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It was another School Spirit Day in the 6abc Yard, and this week the spotlight was on the "Marching Pioneers" from Conestoga High School.

The 170-member marching band from Chester County treated the Action News team to a mix of music spanning generations, from Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Coldplay's "Fix You" to *NSYNC.

Band director Christopher Nation says the group tries to choose songs that audiences will recognize and connect with.

For the students, that sometimes means learning music from before they were born, but they say the reaction from the crowd makes it worth it.
