Cobb Linc Go is now up and running in Kennesaw and Acworth. Riders can travel anywhere within the 31-square-mile service zone for $2.50 per ride.
The program is designed to help connect neighborhoods and make transportation more accessible, especially as the cost of living continues to rise.
“This is something that even the students are definitely going to use, especially in light of general cost of living,” said Morgan Simmons-Gibson, Cobb County’s deputy transportation director.
The service works much like Uber, allowing riders to use an app to arrange a trip.

“Whether it’s a student trying to get to an internship, a parent trying to get to a parent-teacher conference, a grandparent trying to get to a doctor’s appointment, we are now connecting that first and last mile, which is the most critical,” said Cobb County Commissioner Erick Allen.
Cobb County Commission Chair Lisa Cupid said connecting neighborhoods and addressing transportation gaps are important goals for the county.
“We must be intentional about how we bridge gaps and we connect our neighborhoods,” Cupid said.
The county is also looking toward the future of transportation. In 2028, driverless shuttles are expected to operate in the Cumberland District, connecting the Battery, the Galleria, the convention center and the mall.
Cobb County Department of Transportation Director Drew Raessler said the shuttles will most likely have an attendant on board to help passengers with mobility issues or situations that require human assistance.
The transit expansion is part of a broader effort to improve transportation access throughout Cobb County.
