Two men sentenced to prison for Spring Valley man's shooting death
Two men convicted in the shooting death of a Spring Valley man at the front door of his apartment were sentenced Friday to state prison terms.
Andre Ford, 34, and Didesisi Franklin, 32, were found guilty by an El Cajon jury of murder and other charges for the Dec. 10, 2021, killing of 25- year-old Jordan Amon Farmer.
Prosecutors alleged Ford, Franklin, and another co-defendant, Jazmin Holdren Fevella, drove to Farmer’s apartment on Delrose Avenue that night.
Ford then approached the victim’s front door, knocked, then after the victim opened the door, Ford shot Farmer once in the chest, prosecutors said.
Ford was sentenced Friday to 80 years to life in state prison, while Franklin was sentenced to 26 years to life. Fevella previously pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced last year to 12 years in state prison.
According to court documents filed by prosecutors, the killing arose out of a separate shooting that occurred about a month prior outside a Spring Valley liquor store.
Farmer, Fevella, and another woman were shot at, leaving the two women wounded by the gunfire, while Farmer fled the scene unhurt, prosecutors wrote.
Ford – who was dating Fevella at the time – and Franklin – who was the father of the other wounded woman’s child – were angered, as were the two women, who believed Farmer had “interacted” with the people behind the shooting and “had not warned them of the danger and had escaped from the shooting without injury while both women were shot,” prosecutors wrote.
