Mercy hosts reverse trick-or-treating for young patients

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Workers at Mercy Hospital are making sure young patients get to enjoy Halloween through reverse trick-or-treating.

Every year, workers dress up in costumes for the event. Young patients stay in their rooms while staff go door-to-door delivering Halloween treats.

Employees said they often have just as much fun as the kids.

“Halloween is a day that kids get so excited for, they’re looking forward to it all year long, and sometimes they end up here in the hospital, and our team does a really great job of making Halloween even more special for kids here in the hospital,” said Kelsey Mitchell, child life manager at Mercy Kids.

Mercy has hosted reverse trick-or-treating for its young patients for more than 15 years.
