Mallard Creek claims first conference title since 2019 with 17-7 win over Chambers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - The Mavericks are entering the playoffs hot on the heels of a six-game win streak.

Mallard Creek held off previously-unbeaten Chambers 17-7 to finish the regular season 8-2 after a 2-2 start to the year.

Both teams will now assumably get high seeds in the NCHSAA 8A state playoffs, which begin Nov. 7.
