Movie made by local filmmaker about St. Louis Chinese food to premiere in November

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - St. Louis Chinese food is more than just a good meal, it’s part of our culture and a connection between communities.

Saturday morning, First Alert 4’s Justin Andrews sat down with St. Louis filmmaker Eric “Remrod” Mayes and hip-hop artist Robbo Brilliant to talk about the new documentary, Half Order. The film explores the deep-rooted connection between the Asian and Black communities through the food, the people and the stories that have helped shape St. Louis culture.

From chop suey shops to the soundtrack, there’s a lot more to this story than what’s on the menu.

“Half Order” premieres at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 at the Hi-Pointe Theatre as part of the St. Louis International Film Festival.
