We’re aware of reports about a large fight at Friday night’s Southwind–Germantown game. Our review indicates there were four to five separate physical altercations. MSCS security officers and sheriff’s deputies broke them up promptly, and the individuals involved were escorted out of the stadium. There were also instances of students running through the crowd, which may have contributed to reports of a larger disturbance.
More than 3,000 people attended the game, making it one of the district’s most highly attended events. To help manage crowd size and maintain safety, MSCS is implementing a cap on ticket sales and reviewing additional safety measures for future sporting events.
