Woman, 75, dies days after being hit by vehicle in Kahala parking lot
A 75-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle as she walked through the Kahala Mall parking lot on Tuesday has died, police said.
At about 5:03 p.m., the woman was walking near the American Savings Bank when she was hit by a vehicle driven by a 74-year-old man who was traveling north in the parking lot, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said the woman was treated for a head injury and taken to an emergency room in critical condition.
HPD’s Traffic Division said the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office notified police on Friday that the woman had died from her injuries.
Police said the motorist remained at the scene after the collision, and that speed, drugs, or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
Traffic Division officials said this was Honolulu’s fifth non-traffic fatality in 2026, compared with none at the same time last year.
