This 70-foot homemade pirate ship is the newest Halloween display created by Chris Clark and his family in Broomall, Pennsylvania.
BROOMALL, Pennsylvania (WPVI) -- Every Halloween is a new adventure for Chris Clark, who designs a massive display to build on his sister's front lawn.
Clark, a business office manager at a local nursing home, spent 10 years as a wedding planner and got a degree in theater design and technology from DeSales University.
His history with decorating for Halloween dates back to when he was 12 years old. His displays grew each year, but were put on hiatus when he went to college.
After graduation, he wanted to bring the decorations back. But his home at the time was not ideal for Halloween foot traffic.
Clark's sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Dan Knox, graciously offered their front lawn as his creative canvas.
For the past four years, Clark has teamed up Lisa and Dan, along with other friends and family, to put a massive display together.
This year's 70-foot pirate ship, known as the 'Miss Fortune,' is the latest iteration. Previous years featured a carnival theme and a western theme.
Clark's friends and family dress up and act in character for guests who visit on Halloween night.
After Halloween, the ship should remain viewable for about a week until they start breaking it down.
The address is 412 Westbourne Drive, Broomall, PA. It's free to visit.
Next year's theme is undecided, but Clark hopes to keep making it bigger and better.
