Raiders make wide receiver’s return official for Sunday’s game against Jets
Jack Bech is officially back.
The Las Vegas Raiders activated the second-year wide receiver from injured reserve Saturday and he has no injury designation for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Bech had been listed as questionable after Friday’s practice.
Defensive end Patrick Johnson has been placed on injured reserve due to a stinger to clear a spot on the roster.
Bech has not played since suffering a broken forearm during the loss to the Saints in New Orleans on Sept. 27.
He had five catches for 48 yards and a touchdown in the first two games for the Raiders.
Bech underwent surgery the following day and has been working his way back. He was able to practice in full all week and is expected to be active on Sunday.
“It’s a great feeling (to be back),” he said this week. “Been putting in a lot of hard work the last few weeks when we haven’t been able to get on the field. Mentally, physically, the trainers have been amazing. The strength staff, the coaches keeping me up to date with the playbook. But just so excited and happy to be back on the field this weekend.”
The Raiders also elevated defensive tackle defensive end Cian Slone and defensive tackle Tim Keenan III from the practice squad.
Keenan, known primarily for his acumen against the run, was also elevated last week and made two tackles on 19 snaps in his NFL debut.
Slone has been elevated each of the last two weeks only to be listed as inactive on gameday. Johnson’s absence could clear the way for Slone to play this week.
Offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson remains questionable with a back injury. He was able to get in a limited practice on Friday after sitting out Thursday’s session.
