Mid-South Food Bank hosts morning grocery giveaway
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Mid-South Food Bank stepped up to help hundreds of families in Memphis Saturday morning.
Volunteers came out bright and early at Ida B. Wells Street, near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Avenue, for the mobile food pantry that began at 7 a.m.
Organizers distributed boxes of fresh food and essential groceries to support those battling food insecurity.

The food bank said that rising grocery costs are pushing more families to turn to mobile pantries just to keep food on the table.
Organizers say pop-up distributions like this are a critical lifeline as they continue working to ensure no family in the Mid-South goes hungry.
